Tools: suitable container

1. Warm up engine for at least five minutes, then shut down.
2. With engine still warm, remove cap from oil drain hose and drain oil completely into a suitable container.
3. When oil has drained, install and tighten drain hose cap.
4. Remove oil dipstick and fill crankcase with recommended oil; crankcase holds about 1.4 liters.
5. Do not fill above FULL mark; install and tighten dipstick cap before operating.

⚠ Filter will retain some oil

1. Turn oil filter counterclockwise to remove.
2. Coat gasket of new filter with engine oil.
3. Turn new filter clockwise until gasket contacts filter adapter, then tighten an additional 3/4 to one turn by hand.
4. Run engine and check for leaks.
5. Check oil level and fill to full mark after checking for leaks.

Tools: lint-free cloth

1. Be sure the generator is as level as possible.
2. Remove oil dipstick and wipe dry with clean, lint-free cloth.
3. Install and tighten oil dipstick, then remove again.
4. Oil should be at dipstick FULL mark; add recommended oil to FULL mark only.
5. Do not fill above FULL mark; install and tighten dipstick cap before operating.

⚠ Do not use a forceful spray of water; water may enter the generator interior and contaminate the fuel system

1. Keep the generator set as clean and dry as possible.
2. Remove dirt and moisture from electrical windings.
3. Do not use a forceful spray of water to clean the generator.

⚠ Replacement paper filter must be a flame retardant type

Tools: liquid detergent

1. Turn knob counterclockwise to loosen.
2. Remove cover, foam pre-cleaner and paper filter.
3. Remove foam pre-cleaner from cover.
4. Wash foam pre-cleaner in liquid detergent and water.
5. Wrap foam pre-cleaner in a cloth and squeeze dry.
6. Saturate foam pre-cleaner in engine oil; squeeze out excess oil.
7. Install foam pre-cleaner into cover, followed by paper filter; lock tabs into cover slots.

⚠ Never store the battery on any concrete or wooden floor

1. Start the engine and let it warm up.
2. Close the fuel shutoff valve in the fuel supply line and let the engine run out of fuel.
3. While the engine is warm, drain oil completely and refill crankcase with SAE 10W-30 'For Service SF' oil.
4. Attach a tag to the engine indicating oil viscosity and classification.
5. Remove spark plugs, pour two or three tablespoons clean engine oil into openings, crank several times, then install and tighten spark plugs.
6. Remove the battery and store in a cool, dry room on a wooden board.
7. Clean and wipe the entire generator.

⚠ Do not use tap water in the battery

1. Check tag on engine for oil viscosity and classification; verify correct oil is used, drain and refill if necessary.
2. Check battery; fill all cells to proper level with distilled water and recharge to 100% state-of-charge.
3. Turn OFF all electrical loads, then start the engine.
4. Let the engine warm up.
5. Apply electrical loads to at least 50% of the unit's rated wattage capacity.
6. When the engine is thoroughly warmed, shut it down.

⚠ DO NOT BLAST CLEAN SPARK PLUGS

Tools: feeler gauge

1. Clean each spark plug and set gap to 0.030 inch (0.76mm)
2. Clean by scraping or wire brushing and washing with commercial solvent

⚠ Do not operate generator if exhaust system is leaking or damaged

1. Turn OFF electrical loads using vehicle means (main line circuit breaker or transfer switch).
2. Hold engine Start/Stop switch at START to crank the engine.
3. Release the switch when the engine starts.
4. Let the engine run at no-load for a few minutes to stabilize and warm up.
5. Turn ON electrical loads using vehicle means.

1. Turn OFF all electrical loads using vehicle means (main circuit breaker or transfer switch).
2. Place Start/Stop switch in its STOP position.
