⚠ Disconnect battery cables before servicing, negative lead first

1. Run the engine until thoroughly warmed up (at least 5 minutes) then shut off.
2. With engine still warm, remove the oil drain plug and drain oil into a container.
3. Replace the oil drain plug after draining.
4. Remove the old oil filter by turning counterclockwise.
5. Apply a light coating of clean engine oil to the new filter gasket.
6. Screw on the new filter by hand until gasket contacts adapter, then tighten an additional 3/4 to one turn.
7. Remove the dipstick and fill crankcase with recommended oil to about 1.4 liters, not above FULL mark.
8. Install and tighten the dipstick.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
10. Check oil level and fill to FULL mark after checking for leaks.

⚠ Never operate the engine with oil level below the Add mark on the dipstick

1. Be sure the generator is as level as possible.
2. Remove the dipstick and wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth.
3. Install and tighten the dipstick cap, then remove it again.
4. If necessary, add oil until it reaches the dipstick FULL mark; do not fill above FULL.
5. Install and tighten the oil fill cap and dipstick before operating.

Tools: wire feeler gauge

1. Clean area around base of spark plug by scraping or washing with wire brush and commercial solvent
2. Remove spark plug and check condition; replace if worn or questionable
3. Check spark plug gap using wire feeler gauge; adjust gap to 0.030 inch (0.76 mm) by bending ground electrode

1. Turn the knob counterclockwise to loosen.
2. Remove the cover, foam precleaner, and paper filter.
3. Remove the foam precleaner from the cover.
4. Wash the foam precleaner in liquid detergent and water.
5. Wrap in a clean cloth and gently squeeze dry.
6. Saturate the foam precleaner in clean engine oil; squeeze to remove excess (do not twist).
7. Install foam precleaner into cover, followed by paper filter, tabs locked into slots.
8. Install the cover, foam precleaner, and paper filter.
9. Replace knob to retain the filter in place.

1. Start the engine and let it warm up.
2. Close the fuel shutoff valve in the fuel supply line and allow the unit to shut down.
3. While engine is still warm, drain the oil completely and refill crankcase with SAE 10W-30 For Service SE oil.
4. Attach a tag to the engine indicating oil viscosity and classification.
5. Remove spark plug and pour 2-3 tablespoons of clean engine oil into spark plug openings; reinstall plug.
6. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry room on a wooden board.
7. Clean and wipe the entire generator.

1. Check tag on engine for oil viscosity/classification; drain and refill if needed
2. Check state of battery; fill unsealed batteries with distilled water; recharge to 100% or replace
3. Clean and wipe entire generator
4. Reconnect battery observing polarity
5. Turn off all electrical loads, add fuel if necessary, start engine
6. Allow unit to warm up thoroughly
7. Apply electrical loads to at least 50% of rated wattage capacity
8. Shut down when thoroughly warmed up

1. Check the tag on the engine for oil viscosity/classification; drain and refill if necessary.
2. Check battery state; fill unsealed cells with distilled water; recharge or replace battery.
3. Clean and wipe the entire generator.
4. Reconnect the battery observing correct polarity.
5. Turn OFF all electrical loads, add fuel if necessary, and start the engine.
6. Allow the unit to warm up thoroughly.
7. Apply electrical loads to at least 50 percent of rated wattage capacity.
8. Shut down the engine when thoroughly warmed up.

⚠ If engine does not start after 15 seconds of cranking, release switch and wait 1 minute before trying again

1. Turn OFF electrical loads using the main circuit breaker or transfer switch.
2. If not started in more than two weeks, press the Fuel Pump Primer switch and hold about 10 seconds.
3. Hold the Start/Stop switch at START; release when the engine starts.
4. Let the engine run at no-load for a few minutes to stabilize and warm up.
5. Turn ON electrical loads using the means provided.

1. Turn OFF all electrical loads using the means provided.
2. Let generator run at no-load for a few minutes to stabilize temperatures.
3. Place the Start/Stop switch in its STOP position.
