  8. Rotate the volts/Hz potentiometer clockwise until the voltage level begins to drop.
  9. Readjust the engine speed to 1800 rpm for 60 Hz models or 1500 rpm for 50 Hz models.
  10. Readjust the voltage adjustment control until the desired output is achieved.
  11. Readjust the stability potentiometer until light flicker minimizes.
  12. Move the generator set master switch to the OFF/RESET position.
Cooling System Checklist diagnostic

⚠ Shut down immediately if problems arise during startup

⚠ Recheck belt tension after 5-10 minutes and again after 8-12 hours of operation

  1. Verify cooling fan position in fan shroud
  2. Check mounting hardware
  3. Check fan motor for free rotation
  4. Check V-belts for alignment and tension
  5. Fill system with coolant and check all connections for tightness and leaks
  6. Verify electrical connections secure and power source matches motor nameplate
  7. Verify no foreign material loose in fan air stream
  8. With unit running check fan clearance, excessive vibration, excessive noise, coolant leaks
Battery Installation and Connection installation

⚠ Battery gases. Explosion can cause severe injury or death. Do not smoke or permit flames or sparks near a battery.

⚠ Remove the negative (--) lead first when disconnecting; reconnect the negative (--) lead last.

  1. Verify that the generator set master control switch is in the OFF/RESET position.
  2. Ensure that the starting battery is fully charged before placing the battery in service.
  3. Clean the battery posts and/or adapters if necessary.
