Changing the Oil maintenance

Tools: 12mm hex wrench

  1. Unscrew oil drain plug with 12mm hex wrench
  2. Drain all oil into approved container
  3. Replace and tighten oil drain plug with 12mm hex wrench
Checking the Oil maintenance
  1. Ensure generator on level surface
  2. Remove dipstick and wipe clean
  3. Reinsert dipstick fully then remove
  4. Check oil level on stick; add oil if low
  5. Replace dipstick
Cleaning the Air Filter maintenance
  1. Unclip filter cover (4 clasps)
  2. Remove filter cover by sliding out under frame
  3. Remove paper filter (not reusable), call for replacement
  4. Insert new filter paper side down
  5. Replace filter cover
  6. Secure filter cover with clips
Spark Plug Maintenance maintenance

Tools: spark plug wrench

  1. Remove spark plug cap
  2. Unscrew spark plug with spark plug wrench
  3. Inspect plug, discard if cracked or chipped
  4. Measure gap with gauge (0.7-0.8mm / 0.028-0.031in)
  5. Clean and re-gap if reusing
  6. Screw spark plug back in
  7. Replace spark plug cap
Storage Preparation (30+ days) maintenance
  1. Turn off main breaker, run unit 3-5 minutes
  2. Turn off fuel valve, allow unit to stall out, turn off key
  3. Drain the fuel tank
  4. Remove carburetor drain bolt and drain remaining fuel
  5. Remove spark plug, add 2 tbsp 10w30 oil into spark plug hole
  6. Pull recoil start one time, replace plug
  7. Remove battery and place on tender indoors
Starting the Generator Using Gasoline operation

⚠ Operating starter more than 5 seconds can damage the motor

⚠ Disconnect all electrical loads before starting

  1. Shut breaker off
  2. Turn gas valve on
  3. Close choke
  4. Check fuel select switch set to GAS
  5. Turn engine switch to START, release to ON when started
  6. Open choke
  7. Turn breaker on
  8. Connect devices starting with largest loads first
Starting the Generator Using Propane operation

⚠ Make sure there is no possible ignition source close to the generator

  1. Shut breaker off
  2. Turn gas valve off
  3. Connect propane hose to regulator
  4. Connect propane tank and turn tank on
  5. Check fuel select switch set to LPG
  6. Open choke
  7. Turn engine switch to START
  8. Turn breaker on and connect devices
Changing/Inspecting the AVR repair
  1. Remove 2 bolts of AVR located behind power panel
  2. Remove back cover, cut zip ties to brush system
  3. Disconnect wire clip
  4. Reconnect AVR wire to brush system
  5. Replace rear cover
  6. Bolt new replacement AVR onto back of power panel
Changing/Inspecting the Carbon Brushes repair
  1. Remove 2 bolts of generator cover and pull cover off
  2. Remove bolt holding carbon brush
  3. Remove 2 wires from AVR on carbon brush
  4. Install new carbon brush with bolt
  5. Connect AVR wires, matching + and - correctly
  6. Replace generator cover with 2 bolts
