Changing the Oil maintenance

⚠ Worn out or dirty oil does not cool the generator properly

Tools: 12mm hex wrench

  1. Unscrew oil drain plug with 12mm hex wrench
  2. Allow oil to drain into approved container
  3. Replace drain plug and tighten with 12mm hex wrench
Checking the Oil maintenance
  1. Make sure the generator is on a level surface.
  2. Unscrew the oil filler/dipstick cap.
  3. Wipe the oil off the stick with a dry cloth.
  4. Insert dipstick and remove it again.
  5. If no oil on stick or only at very end, add oil until crankcase is full.
  6. Replace the cap when finished.
Cleaning the Air Filter maintenance
  1. Release clips on top and bottom of filter cover, remove cover
  2. Remove sponge-like elements from casing
  3. Wipe dirt from inside empty air cleaner casing
  4. Wash elements in household dish detergent and warm water
  5. Pat dry with cloth
  6. Soak dry elements in small amount of engine oil, ring out excess
  7. Replace elements in casing and replace cover
Cleaning the Fuel Filter Cup maintenance

Tools: wrench

  1. Turn fuel valve to OFF
  2. Unscrew fuel filter cup from fuel valve using wrench
  3. Clean cup of all sediment using rag or brush
  4. Reinstall fuel filter cup
Emptying the Gas Tank maintenance

⚠ Do not store fuel from one season to another

Tools: wrench

  1. Turn fuel valve to OFF
  2. Remove fuel filter cup
  3. Empty fuel filter cup of any fuel
  4. Turn fuel valve to ON, drain gas from generator into funnel/container
  5. Turn fuel valve to OFF
  6. Reinstall fuel filter cup
  7. Store emptied gasoline with fuel stabilizer
Spark Plug Maintenance maintenance

Tools: spark plug wrench, gap gauge, wire brush

  1. Pull spark plug cap off
  2. Unscrew spark plug with spark plug wrench
  3. Visually inspect; discard if cracked/chipped, recommend F6RTC/NGK BPR6ES
  4. Measure plug gap with gauge, should be 0.7-0.8mm (0.028-0.031 in)
  5. Clean and re-gap if reusing
  6. Screw spark plug back in
  7. Replace spark plug cap
Changing / Inspecting the Carbon Brushes repair

⚠ Inspect every 250 running hours

  1. Remove 2 bolts of generator cover, pull cover off
  2. Remove bolt holding carbon brush
  3. Remove 2 wires from AVR on carbon brush
  4. Install new carbon brush with bolt
  5. Insert and connect 2 wires from AVR, connect + and - correctly
  6. Replace back cover with 2 bolts
