Procedure

  1. Release the three cover clips and remove the air cleaner cover.
  2. Slowly remove the air filter to reduce the amount of dust dislodged; gently move or twist to break the seal.
  3. Wipe out the interior of the air cleaner housing and cover with a clean, damp cloth; remove ALL dust.
  4. Inspect new air filter for shipping damage, especially the inside sealing area; do not install a damaged filter.
  5. Install new air filter; the sealing area is on the inside of the open end and will stretch over the outlet tube.
  6. Apply pressure at the outer rim of the filter, not the flexible center; no cover pressure is required to hold the seal.
  7. Put on the air cleaner cover and secure with the three cover clips.
