⚠ Ensure the nut is fully tight before operating the latch.

1. Note interference or reason latch pawl will not engage pawl slot.
2. If pawl hits slot bracket or shelf, move it to allow pawl to rotate inside slot.
3. Latch pawl should operate within slot freely when latch handle rotates on removal.
4. With latch closed, loosen bottom nut. Turn top nut to change pawl position. Re-tighten bottom nut.
5. Ensure nut fully tight before operating latch.
6. Ideal latch: pawl swings into position on closing, pulls up, engages top of slot with increasing resistance.
7. When latch ring fully depressed, there should be firm compression of panel perimeter seal.
8. If you can lift a corner of top panel and see a space, latch is not tight enough.

⚠ Generator sets with wet exhaust near or below water line must use a siphon break to prevent backflow. Backflow can ruin an engine and possibly sink the vessel.

1. Note two plugged penetrations in top left corner of rear panel. These are ports for siphon break lines.
2. Remove white plastic hole plugs from inside and replace with two rubber grommets (item 14).
3. Disconnect hose from sea water pump output and heat exchanger inlet.
4. Replace single hose with two 3/4" ID lines, one from sea water output, other to heat exchanger inlet.
5. Hoses must allow mounting siphon break minimum 12 inches above vessel's loaded water line.
6. Pass lines through two holes in rear panel as indicated per diagram.
7. See 'Exhaust' section of IM 1000 Installation Manual.

1. Install 3x 1" white hole plug (item 10) when front valence (item 16) is secured.
2. Following completion of front valence, install side valence sound foam (item 15), typical each side.

⚠ Use Coast Guard approved rubber fuel hose.

1. Connect exhaust elbow to vessel exhaust system. Pass 3 inch exhaust hose through right rear panel opening.
2. Connect sea water pump to vessel water inlet. Pass 3/4" ID hose through bottom right rear panel hole.
3. Connect fuel supply and return using Coast Guard approved rubber fuel hose. Fuel connections: 5/16-37T JIC inlet and 1/4-37T JIC outlet.
4. Connect DC control panel harness to genset engine harness plug through middle left lower rear panel hole.
5. Connect 12 volt battery leads using top slot on right rear panel.
6. Connect AC output leads from generator junction box to vessel power distribution panel through top left slot.
7. Optional: port used for water outlet in keel cooled applications.

⚠ Do not over tighten.

Tools: Phillips head screw driver

1. Install service side panel aft (item 17).
2. Captive screws: finger start and finish light hand tight using Phillips head screw driver.
3. Do not over tighten.

1. Install non service side panel fwd (item 19). See Detail D.
2. Captive screws: finger start and finish light hand tight using Phillips head screw driver.
3. Do not over tighten.

⚠ Backflow can ruin an engine and possibly sink the vessel.

1. Generator sets with wet exhaust installed near or below water line must use a siphon break.
2. Connect one side of loop from raw water pump outlet, other to heat exchanger raw water inlet.
3. Refer to IM1000 Installation Manual, plumbing and exhaust section.

1. Install front panel assembly (item 20). Refer to detail views 'E' and 'F' for connect point locations.
2. Thumbscrew latch: rotate knobs left until stop before placing panel. Rotate right until stop to engage. Twist with firm pressure.
3. Hinge latch: ensure upper hinge receptacle receives lower pin attached to right side panel.

1. Install seal bar assembly (item 21).
2. Connect front panel (item 20) to service side aft panel (item 17).

1. Install top aft panel assembly (item 23). Locate pins to holes where indicated. See Detail H.
2. Unit shipped with latch disengaged. With pins aligned, pull ring handle up, rotate 180 degrees, pull down.
3. Latches pre-set at factory but some adjustment may be required. Refer to latch supplement.

1. Install 1/4" NPT x 3-1/2" pipe nipple (item 1) to front base frame port.
2. Install 3/8" NPT x 3" pipe nipple (item 2) to corresponding front base frame port.

1. Install top fwd panel assembly (item 24). Locate pins to holes where indicated.
2. Top fwd panel must seat inside drip channel/seat.
