Before you start
- Generator sets with wet exhaust near or below water line must use a siphon break to prevent backflow. Backflow can ruin an engine and possibly sink the vessel.
Procedure
- Note two plugged penetrations in top left corner of rear panel. These are ports for siphon break lines.
- Remove white plastic hole plugs from inside and replace with two rubber grommets (item 14).
- Disconnect hose from sea water pump output and heat exchanger inlet.
- Replace single hose with two 3/4" ID lines, one from sea water output, other to heat exchanger inlet.
- Hoses must allow mounting siphon break minimum 12 inches above vessel's loaded water line.
- Pass lines through two holes in rear panel as indicated per diagram.
