Kohler WP 2.0 Generator Set

1. Connect suction strainer to one end of reinforced hose and secure with clamp
2. Insert smaller end of hose joint through larger end of coupling; connect other end of hose to hose joint and coupling; secure with clamp
3. Place rubber seal at end of hose joint; attach hose joint to pump suction port; tighten coupling
4. Repeat similarly for discharge hose at pump discharge port

⚠ Paper element cannot be blown out with compressed air

⚠ Operating with loose or damaged components can cause premature wear and failure

1. Move bails on air cleaner cover down; remove latches from tabs on base; remove cover
2. Remove precleaner from paper element
3. Replace or wash precleaner in warm water with detergent; rinse and air dry
4. Lightly oil precleaner with new engine oil; squeeze out excess
5. Separate precleaner from element; service precleaner and replace paper element
6. Install new paper element on base; reinstall precleaner over element
7. Position cover for normal or cold-weather operation; secure with latches and bails

1. Change oil while engine is warm
2. Clean area around oil fill cap/dipstick and oil drain plug
3. Remove oil drain plug and oil fill cap/dipstick; drain oil completely
4. Reinstall oil drain plug; torque to 13 ft. lb. (17.6 N-m)
5. Fill crankcase with new oil up to point of overflowing filler neck
6. Reinstall oil fill cap/dipstick and tighten securely
7. Dispose of used oil per local ordinances

⚠ Never run engine with oil level below or above the dipstick operating range

1. Ensure engine is cool; clean dipstick area of debris
2. Remove dipstick; wipe off oil
3. Reinsert dipstick resting on fill neck without threading, or thread and remove to check level
4. Level should be at top of indicator on dipstick, or up to overflowing point at fill plug
5. Add oil if low, up to overflow point
6. Reinstall dipstick or fill plug and tighten securely

1. Change oil while engine is warm.
2. Clean area around oil fill cap and oil drain plug.
3. Remove oil drain plug and oil fill cap. Drain completely.
4. Reinstall oil drain plug. Torque to 13 ft. lb.
5. Fill crankcase with new oil to point of overflowing.
6. Reinstall oil fill cap and tighten securely.
7. Dispose of used oil in accordance with local ordinances.

⚠ Perform after pump has stopped and cooled down

1. Fill pump body with clean water via discharge port or filler cap
2. Slowly pull recoil starter handle several times until resistance is felt, then release gently
3. Remove pump drain plug and allow water to flow out
4. Reinstall pump drain plug
5. Repeat if necessary
6. Clean suction strainer, remove dirt, and rinse with clean water

Tools: Wire feeler gauge, Spark plug socket, Torque wrench

1. Clean out spark plug recess
2. Remove spark plug
3. Check gap using wire feeler gauge
4. Adjust gap if needed per specification table
5. Install plug into cylinder head
6. Torque plug to 20 ft. lb.

⚠ Never operate pump without filling pump body with water and immersing suction strainer beforehand

1. Add Kohler PRO Series fuel treatment or equivalent to fuel tank; run engine 2-3 minutes to stabilize fuel
2. Change oil while engine is still warm; remove spark plug, pour about 1 oz. oil into cylinder, replace plug, crank slowly to distribute oil
3. Rinse pump and pipes thoroughly with clean water
4. Clean outside of pump; apply rust-prevention product to worn or damaged areas
5. Cover pump with a protective cover and store in a clean, dry place

⚠ Carbon monoxide - use outdoors only

⚠ Rotating parts - stay away during operation

1. Immerse suction strainer completely in the liquid to be pumped
2. Fill pump body with water via discharge port or filler cap
3. Connect discharge and suction couplings
4. Turn fuel shut-off valve to ON (if equipped)
5. Turn engine on/off switch to ON (if equipped)
6. Cold engine: set throttle midway between SLOW and FAST; set choke to ON
7. Warm engine: set throttle midway between SLOW and FAST; choke usually not required
8. Slowly pull recoil starter handle until past compression, then firmly pull straight out
9. Gradually return choke to OFF as engine warms up

1. Move throttle lever to slow/idle position; stop engine
2. Pump stops
3. Close fuel shut-off valve, if equipped
4. Disconnect suction and discharge pipes and allow liquid to flow out
5. Rinse pump if not used again same day

Tools: wrench

1. Remove two nuts, two screws, and carburetor cover panel
2. Turn fuel valve lever to OFF
3. Remove fuel valve cup, O-ring, and filter screen
4. Clean screen and cup with solvent; wipe off
5. Check screen and O-ring; replace if damaged
6. Reinstall O-ring and cup finger tight, then 1/2 to 3/4 turn with wrench
7. Turn fuel valve to ON and check for leaks; repeat steps 5-6 if leaking
8. Tighten fuel cap securely
9. Reinstall carburetor cover panel
