Procedures

12
Réglage du jeu aux soupapes adjustment

Tools: Clé de 10 mm, Clé plate de 11 mm, Tournevis, Cale d'épaisseur

  1. Dévisser le chapeau de soupape.
  2. Tourner le vilebrequin jusqu'à soupape complètement ouverte.
  3. Tourner le vilebrequin à 360°; la soupape est fermée.
  4. Contrôler le jeu avec une cale d'épaisseur.
  5. Desserrer le contre-écrou et régler avec la vis du culbuteur.
  6. Resserrer le contre-écrou et contrôler à nouveau.
  7. Répéter pour les autres soupapes.
  8. Replacer le chapeau et serrer les vis.
Check fuel solenoid valve diagnostic
  1. Locate fuel solenoid valve in front of injection pump.
  2. Remove small retention screw and plug from valve briefly while operating.
  3. Replace plug immediately; motor should react by revving high.
  4. If motor does not react sharply, solenoid valve may be faulty.
Insulation test diagnostic

Tools: voltmeter

  1. Switch off all on-board electrical devices.
  2. Start the generator.
  3. Measure AC voltage with voltmeter between generator housing and AC-Control box.
  4. Measure AC voltage between generator housing and ground.
  5. Measured voltage must not exceed 50 mV.
  6. Check safety systems and leakage current relay if installed.
  7. Ensure all electrical devices are connected to common ground.
Connection of the starter battery block installation

⚠ Wrong battery connection can cause short-circuit and fire.

⚠ Disconnect battery before working on generator.

  1. Install an own separate starter battery for the generator.
  2. Connect positive battery cable directly to starter solenoid switch.
  3. Connect negative battery cable underneath starter motor at engine mount.
  4. Install fuse and battery circuit breaker in positive cable within 300 mm of battery.
  5. Use 12 V starter battery for 12 V system; 24 V for 24 V system (2x12 V in series).
  6. Connect cables at generator first, then at battery.
Connection of two 12 V batteries to a 24 V battery bank installation
  1. Connect (+) cable of first battery.
  2. Connect (-) cable of second battery.
  3. Connect (+) cable of second battery.
  4. Connect (-) cable of first battery.
  5. Disconnect batteries in reverse procedure.
8 step simple service maintenance

⚠ Never use compressed air as breathing air without prior purification in accordance with local legislation and standards.

  1. Drain all liquids (centralized draining point).
  2. Drain and replace compressor oil.
  3. Drain and replace engine oil.
  4. Replace engine air filter (easy clip in changeable filter).
  5. Replace compressor air filter (easy clip in changeable filter).
  6. Replace engine oil filter (accessible spin on filter).
  7. Replace compressor oil filter (accessible spin on filter).
  8. Replace compressor separator element (accessible spin on element).
Check and discharge capacitors maintenance

⚠ Charged capacitors can be lethal. Do not touch capacitor contacts.

Tools: multimeter with capacitor measuring, discharge reactor 5-10 kOhm, insulated pliers/screwdriver

  1. Never check capacitors while generator motor is running.
  2. Disconnect terminal lead wires using insulated pliers or screwdriver.
  3. Discharge capacitor terminals by bridging with discharge reactor.
  4. For three-phase capacitors discharge between L1-L2, L2-L3, L1-L3.
  5. Switch multimeter to capacitor measuring; connect probes to terminals.
  6. Measure capacity of each capacitor.
  7. Check all capacitors in electrical cabinet.
Checking oil level maintenance

⚠ Burn hazard: generator and coolant can be hot.

Tools: Paper towels or cloth

  1. Place generator or vehicle level.
  2. Run generator about 10 minutes to warm engine, then wait 3 minutes.
  3. Secure against accidental start and open casing.
  4. Pull out, clean and reinsert oil dipstick; wait 10 seconds.
  5. Read oil level at lower end of stick.
  6. Recommended level is 2/3 between MIN and MAX.
  7. Refill if below 1/3.
Checking oil-level maintenance

⚠ Generator and coolant can be hot during and after operation.

Tools: paper towels / cloth, oil dipstick

  1. Place generator level.
  2. Run generator about 10 minutes; wait 3 minutes.
  3. Secure against accidental start; open casing.
  4. Pull oil dipstick, clean, reinsert, wait 10 seconds.
  5. Pull dipstick and read oil level at lower end.
  6. Refill if below 1/3; change oil if below MIN and 150 h or more.
Checking water separator in fuel supply maintenance
  1. Locate pre-filter with water separator and cock underneath.
  2. Drain water via cock; water sinks to bottom due to density difference.
  3. Close cock after draining.
Contrôle du niveau d'huile maintenance
  1. Placer le générateur sur une surface plane.
  2. Sécuriser contre tout démarrage intempestif.
  3. Retirer et nettoyer la jauge.
  4. Réinsérer la jauge et attendre 10 secondes.
  5. Lire le niveau; conseillé aux 2/3.
  6. Ajouter de l'huile si inférieur au 1/3.
First filling and ventilation of internal cooling water circuit maintenance

⚠ Risk of scalding from hot cooling water.

  1. Fill external expansion tank to max marking; open its cover temporarily.
  2. Open venting screw at internal cooling water pump until bubble-free coolant escapes; close.
  3. Open venting screw at thermostat housing; close when air-free water comes out.
  4. Start generator unloaded for approx. 10 seconds; switch off.
  5. Repeat until no more air comes out; fill expansion tank to max.
  6. Re-ventilate 10 operating hours after first start-up if necessary.
