Before you start
- Service more often under extremely dusty or dirty conditions.
Procedure
- Place master switch in OFF/RESET; disconnect battery charger power.
- Disconnect battery, negative (-) lead first.
- Loosen cover retaining knob and remove cover; remove precleaner from paper element.
- Wash precleaner in warm water with detergent; rinse thoroughly; squeeze out excess water and air dry.
- Saturate precleaner with new engine oil and squeeze out excess oil.
- Reinstall precleaner over the paper element; reinstall cover and secure with knob.
- Reconnect battery charger power and battery, negative (-) lead last.
