5Trailer Wheel Bearing Lubrication maintenance
Tools: grease gun
- Remove small rubber plug on grease cap
- Attach standard grease gun fitting to grease zerk fitting
- Pump grease into fitting until new grease is visible around nozzle
- Wipe excess grease from hub and replace rubber plug
Light Tower Set Up operation
⚠ Mast extends up to 30 ft (9.14 m); make sure area above unit is open and clear of overhead wires
- Locate unit at ground level or higher than illuminated area for maximum light coverage
- Place unit on firm, relatively flat ground and block the wheels
- Rotate tongue jack 90 degrees, raise trailer tongue off towing vehicle
- Connect a good earthen ground to grounding stud on frame near trailer tongue
- Pull outrigger locking pins, extend each outrigger, rotate outrigger jacks 90 degrees with pad facing down
- Rotate rear jack 90 degrees, level trailer using all four jacks
- Adjust lamps by loosening wing nuts on trunnion, aim, tighten hardware, connect to junction box
Lowering the Mast operation
⚠ STOP IMMEDIATELY if mast hangs up or winch cable develops slack
- Shut down lights and engine, allow lights to cool 10-15 minutes
- Loosen mast rotation knob, align white arrows until stop tabs touch, tighten knob
- Turn upper mast winch handle counterclockwise to collapse mast to lowest position
- Release mast lock by pulling safety pin, turn lower mast winch handle counterclockwise until mast rests in transport cradle
- Insert mast cradle locking pin and secure with safety pin
Raising the Mast operation
⚠ Never raise or lower mast while unit is operating
⚠ Do not extend mast beyond colored mark on middle mast tube
- Set up and level the unit with outriggers extended
- Remove mast cradle locking pin from mast cradle
- Check mast cables for wear/damage, ensure properly centered in pulleys, check electrical cord
- Ensure area around unit is clear before raising mast to vertical
- Remove safety pin from mast lock bar, use lower mast winch handle to raise mast until vertical and locked, secure with safety pin
- Use upper mast winch to telescope mast to desired height, extending slowly
- Rotate mast by loosening mast rotation knob, turn to desired direction, tighten knob
Starting the Unit operation
⚠ Excessive cranking will cause damage to starter
⚠ If oil pressure not obtained within 15 seconds, low oil automatic shutdown will stop engine
- Check main circuit breaker and individual light breakers are OFF
- Turn key to GLOW PLUG position and hold 5 seconds or until glow plug indicator turns red (Kubota has no glow plug indicator)
- Turn key to START position and hold until engine cranks and starts, release key to RUN position
- Do not crank engine longer than 10 seconds at a time; wait 30 seconds between attempts
- Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature before switching on loads

If voltage is incorrect, the engine speed may need to be adjusted or generator may require service. 3. Low transformer output. The voltage from the transformer should read approximately 400VAC as the light 'strikes' (induces an arc), then drop and slowly rise back up to stabilize at 240-260VAC. On quick disconnect models, measure across the junction box terminals when the light is unplugged. On hard wired models, remove the mast junction box cover and insert the wire probes into the connector blocks for the light and ground. If proper voltage is not achieved, perform capacitor check to determine if the capacitor or coil needs to be replaced. |
