5Gimbal Mounted Installation installation
- If desired, the digital display can be gimbal mounted.
- Source gimbals from RAM Mounting Systems, Inc. at www.ram-mount.com.
- Use the RAM Diamond base with 9/16 in. ball, part number RAM-A-238, matching the display bolt pattern.
Install Remote Digital Display installation
- Select a dry location in the wheelhouse or bridge.
- Confirm wiring harness length and mounting depth and overall size.
- Use Figure 5 and Figure 6 for display mounting dimensions.
- For single display, connect the 6-pin plug end of the harness to connector B on the display.
- For multiple displays, connect the 6-pin plug end of the harness to an extension harness or Y-harness as needed.
- Connect the terminal ends of the harness to terminal strip TB12 inside the junction box.
- Do not exceed 91.4 m (300 ft.) CAN network length.
Install Terminating Resistor(s) installation
- Check CAN+ and CAN- at the terminal strip in the junction box for 120 ohms on the controller with controller powered down.
- If measuring 120 ohms, a terminating resistor already exists in the controller and no second resistor is needed at the controller.
- Place one 120 ohm terminating resistor at the furthest end from the controller.
- If using multiple extension harnesses, remove all other terminating resistors from the extension harnesses by disconnecting the cap.
- Place one 120 ohm terminating resistor at the controller end of the harness unless the controller has a built-in resistor.
- After everything is connected, verify 60 ohms on CAN+ and CAN-.
