Procedures
2Overseas Tier II Engine Speed Reduction for 50 Hz adjustment
⚠ FOR USE ON OVERSEAS UNITS ONLY
⚠ UNIT WILL BE DERATED AFTER ADJUSTMENT
⚠ A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN MUST MAKE ALL ADJUSTMENTS. MQ POWER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPONENTS RESULTANT FROM UNQUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
- Locate the engine speed adjustment screw and jam nut on the injection pump governor housing (Figure 1).
- Loosen the jam nut of the engine speed adjustment screw by turning the jam nut counter clockwise approximately three (3) turns (Figure 2).
- Start and run the engine using the normal starting procedures.
- While observing the engine speed and the frequency, turn the engine speed adjustment screw counter clockwise until the proper frequency is achieved.
- Maintain position on the engine speed adjustment screw and tighten the jam nut by turning the jam nut clockwise until tight (Figure 3).
- Should any adjustment errors occur, verify frequency and adjust as needed by following Steps 1 thru 5.
Testing The Voltage Selector Switch diagnostic
⚠ ALL ADJUSTMENTS MUST BE MADE BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN. MQ POWER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPONENTS RESULTANT FROM UNQUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
⚠ DO NOT remove metal jumpers during testing
⚠ DO NOT remove wire jumpers during testing
- Give a thorough visual inspection of the Voltage Selector Switch, looking for burned spots, discoloration, smoke damage and/or damaged cabling.
- Rotate the switch with the unit not running; ensure proper rotation with no sticking between positions or a locked switch.
- If any of the above faults are found, replace the switch. If no faults are found, proceed to Step #2.
- Remove the Voltage Selector Switch from its housing, disconnecting all cabling EXCEPT the large cable jumpers, the metal jumpers, and the wire jumpers (block to block).
- With the switch removed and placed on a bench, test the switch following the attached contact diagram in all three (3) positions.
- If any contacts test the opposite of the diagram, replace the switch and rewire per the Generator Wiring Diagram in the Unit Instruction Manual.
