Battery is low or terminals are dirty

2 brands- Cummins/Onan: Check battery per Checkout [A] and recharge or replace. Check battery charger operation. If CB11 is okay, jumper battery cable B+ connection to 81 starter so- -no terminal. Check battery voltage present between K11 terminalS and ground with S11 in Start position. Test K11 per Checkout [D]. Check battery cables for clean tight connections (ref. Checkout [B]). Check B1 starter solenoid and motor: if bad, repair or replace. Check B+ wiring to S11, and between S11 and K11 . Check NC contacts of A 11-Ki 5 .. Replace if bad. Check B+ wiring between K11 and Bi sole- -no noid terminaL. Replace if bad. Check K1 I plunger travel for freedom to bottom in sole- -no id (necessary to open pull coil circuit).

Battery dead, Fault light on, Loose wire or wiring error between K5 and the starter solenoid
1 brand- archive.org: Check battery per Checkout [A] and recharge or replace. See Checkout [C]. Check engine oil level, water level, etc. If okay, reset relay. Jumper battery cable B+ connection to B+ starter solenoid terminal. Check battery cables for clean and tight connections (ref. Checkout [B]). Check B+ starter solenoid and motor-if bad, repair or replace. With S10 in Start position, does Starter Relay K5 energize? Check Starter Relay K5, Start/Stop switch S10 and associated wiring and connection per Checkouts [D] and [F]. Check for loose wire or wiring error between K5 and the starter solenoid.
Fuse FI on the control panel is blown
1 brand- Orion: 1. Replace the fuse with one of the same type and amp rating. If fuse FI blows again, refer to wiring diagram in Section 7 to locate short or defective component. 2a. Recharge or replace the battery. Specific gravity for a fully charged battery is approximately 1.260 at 80° F (27° C). 2b. Clean and tighten or replace the battery cable connectors and cables at the battery and the set. 2c. Adjust charge rate of battery charging circuit. Is battery dead? Check CB11 circuit breaker. If okay, jumper battery cable B+ connection to B1 starter so terminal. Does engine crank?
1 brand- Cummins/Onan: With S11 in Start position, is battery voltage present between K11 terminal S and ground? If K11 does not energize, test per Checkout [D] and replace if bad. Is battery voltage present at B1 solenoid terminal with S11 in Start position? Check battery per Checkout [A] and recharge or replace. Check battery charger operation per Checkout [C]. Check battery cables for clean tight connections (ref. Checkout [B]). Check B1 starter solenoid and motor: if bad, repair or replace. Check B+ wiring to S11, and between S11 and K11. Check NC contacts of A11-K15. Replace if bad.
Switch off indicator lamp flashing. Other fault indicator lamps illuminated, but no fault exists. No indication. Run/Stop/Remote switch in Stop position. Lamp Reset switch not actuated after a previous fault was remedied. Fuses blown on ECM board A11. Starter solenoid will not energize. Faulty ECM board A11. Time delay start is initiated, but starter solenoid does not energize after desired time delay period.
1 brand- Cummins/Onan: Press Lamp Reset switch to de-energize fault lamp relays of ECM, after Run/Stop/Remote switch is pressed to Stop position. Check fuses FI and F4. Replace if necessary with proper fuse: FI - 20 Ampere; F4 - 5 Ampere. Inspect starter solenoid per proper test procedure. Possible defective ECM board A11. Check A11 board TB1-9 for B+ voltage in. Broken wiring or poor connections between board A11 TB1-8 and starter solenoid. With SI 2 switch in Run position, check for voltage out to starter solenoid at TB1-8 of board A11. Check and repair as necessary. Time delay start is initiated, but starter solenoid does not energize after desired time delay period. Possible defective Time Delayed Start/Stop Module A15. If there is no voltage between TB1-8 and ground stud when the panel switch is in the Run position, the ECM is faulty. Replace. Check A15 board TB1-4 for constant B+ voltage in. Check a15 board TB1-5 for Run Signal In voltage. Voltage at A15 board TB1-6 should be at B+ at end of start delay period. Check wiring and connections from A15TB1-6 to A11 TB1-6.
Open control fuse F
1 brand- Cummins/Onan: 1. Check the status of control fuse F1. If it is open, identify and address the reason for the overload. Replace the fuse if necessary. 2. Ensure sufficient pressure is applied to the Start/Stop switch S1 during cranking.
