Procedure
- Bleed fuel line and set engine ready for starting.
- Align timing marks on fuel pump mounting flange and gear case.
- Set speed control lever at operating position.
- Disconnect No.1 injection pipe at fuel pump.
- Turn crankshaft clockwise and stop when fuel emerges.
- Turn crankshaft 20 degrees counter-clockwise, then clockwise to fuel emergence.
- Read timing scale on flywheel through flywheel housing hole.
- Loosen pump mounting nut and incline pump toward or away to adjust.

- One graduation on gear case timing scale corresponds to 2 degrees injection timing
