Before you start

  • ELECTRICAL SHOCK! Remove rings, watches and jewelry. Disconnect ground lead first and reconnect it last.
  • EQUIPMENT DAMAGE! Be sure line circuit breakers, transfer switch and other accessories using line voltage are properly sized for the voltage selected.

Procedure

  1. Move controller Master Switch to OFF/RESET or OFF position.
  2. Disconnect engine starting battery, negative (-) lead first.
  3. Select desired voltage connection from Figure 5-1.
  4. Route leads through current transformers and connect leads per diagram for desired voltage.
  5. If controller is equipped with meters, reposition meter scale lamp jumper to match proper position for desired voltage.
  6. Turn phase selector switch to L1-L2 position (1/12 or 3/36 depending on generator connection); if no meters, connect voltmeter across L1-L2.
  7. Reconnect starting battery. Move controller master switch to TEST position to start; check voltmeter for proper voltage; adjust with voltage adjust/regulator rheostat.
