Generac NP-30G — Throttle linkage adjustment

Adjustments · Electronic governor / carburetor throttle linkage

For the Generac NP-30G, from the Generac owner's manual.

Applies to: Generac NP-30G, Generac GN-220 engine

Before you start

  • Do not overbend the spring clip or the clip will lose its clamping force.

Procedure

  1. Start the generator, then shut it down right away.
  2. Observe from above as the throttle lever on the carburetor rotates counterclockwise while the engine coasts to a stop.
  3. Check for a gap of 0.003 inch (0.08-0.5mm) between the stop tab on the throttle lever arm and the stop block on the carburetor die casting.
  4. With pliers, lightly compress the spring clip on the carburetor lever arm so the linkage rod slides freely.
  5. Slide the rod to increase or decrease the gap until there is 0.003 inch clearance.
  6. Release the spring clip to secure the adjustment.
