Before you start
- The ventilation screw above the cooling water pump casing may not be opened while the generator is running.
Procedure
- Switch off generator before opening vent points.
- Ensure external expansion tank is connected and at sufficient height.
- Open vent screw above cooling water pump casing if present.
- Open vent screw on thermostat casing.
- Pour cooling water into filling necks or external expansion tank.
- When level no longer drops, close filler cover and vent screws; start generator.
- Run generator approx. 60 seconds; switch off.
- Refill cooling water via compensation tank.
- Repeat procedure 1-5 times.
- If no change, run 5 minutes and repeat de-aeration two to three times.
