Before you start
- Wrong battery connection can cause short-circuit and fire.
- Battery negative may not be connected to boat ground or protective grounding of 120 V installation.

Procedure
- Install separate starter battery for generator.
- Attach positive cable directly at starter solenoid switch.
- Attach negative cable underneath starter motor at engine mount.
- Install fuse and battery circuit breaker in positive cable within 300 mm of battery.
- Connect cables first at generator, then at battery.
- Ensure battery voltage matches start system voltage.
