Cummins/Onan — TESTING GENERATOR STATOR

For these Cummins/Onan models: MDL3, MDL4, MDL6.

Applies to: Cummins Onan Mdl3, Cummins Onan Mdl4, Cummins Onan Mdl6

Procedure

  1. Remove rotor leads F1+ and F2- from the rotating MEGGER OR INSULATION RESISTANCE METER CA-1010 rectifier assemblies.
  2. Connect test leads between F1+ and rotor shaft.
  3. If less than 100,000 ohms, rotor is questionable.
