Cummins/Onan — Starting the Plant Manually

Before you start

  • Do not spin engine or push downward on crank.

Procedure

  1. Adjust manual choke for temperature.
  2. Operate fuel pump primer 10 to 20 strokes if needed.
  3. Throw toggle switch to HAND CRANK.
  4. Engage starting crank.
  5. Crank with quick upward pull.
  6. Remove crank as soon as plant starts.
  7. Return toggle switch to ELECT START unless batteries disconnected.
