Before you start
- The spark arrestor must be free of breaks and tears. Replace if damaged.
Procedure
- Place the generator on a level surface and allow the muffler to cool.
- Remove the cover screws and the muffler cover.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the spark arrestor.
- Carefully remove carbon deposits from the spark arrestor screen with a wire brush.
- Reinstall the spark arrestor and muffler cover.

- Check and clean spark arrestor after every 100 hours or six months
