Cummins/Onan — Fuel pump motor wiring connections

Installation

From a Cummins/Onan service manual covering: 4A2.3, 6A3.4-GS, 6AT3.4-GS, DL4, DL6, QSA3, QSA4, QSA6. Check it applies to your exact model before use.

Applies to: Cummins/Onan DGAB, Cummins/Onan DGAC, Cummins/Onan DGAD, Cummins/Onan DGAE, Cummins/Onan DL4, Cummins/Onan DL6

Procedure

  1. Remove end bell cover for access to motor wiring terminals.
  2. Reconnect brown motor lead from terminal 3 to terminal 6, and red lead from terminal 2 to terminal 3.
  3. Cut ring terminal from white lead, strip insulation 1/2 inch (12 mm), and splice to harness lead marked PLUS-WHITE.
  4. Connect five wiring harness leads to appropriate motor terminals or splice; replace end bell cover.
