Procedure
- Remove the spring by pushing the spring plate inward, away from the brush guide.
- Insert the new brush in its guide.
- Install the brush so the shorter length is against generator rotation.
- Be sure each brush is free in its guide.
- Be sure the spring is correctly installed.
- Keep the brush rig and end bell clean of carbon dust.
