Cummins/Onan — AC Voltage Reconnection

Installation · Generator/Stator

From a Cummins/Onan service manual — check it applies to your exact model before use.

Applies to: Cummins/Onan GGHE, Cummins/Onan GGHF, Cummins/Onan WSG-1068 engine

Before you start

  • Reconfiguring to higher voltages can exceed winding voltage capability and damage generator
  • Reconfiguring to lower voltages can increase line current beyond breaker rating

Procedure

  1. Check available generator output voltages and maximum current ratings on generator nameplate.
  2. Reconfigure generator output leads per Reconnection Diagram on control housing side access cover if required.
  3. Check stator lead terminal block connections and perform necessary reconnect to obtain required voltage.
  4. Route current transformers (CT1, CT2, CT3) per Reconnection Diagram, dot facing generator, current flowing into dot.
