5Changing Engine Oil maintenance
⚠ Never dispose of used engine oil into a sewer, ground, or waterways
- Stop the engine and let it cool for several minutes
- Remove the engine service panel to access oil fill/drain plug
- Place oil pan under the oil fill/drain plug
- Clean around the oil fill/drain plug
- Tilt the inverter so oil drains into the container
- Allow oil to completely drain
- Fill crankcase with oil per Adding Engine Oil procedure
- Dispose of used engine oil properly
Cleaning the Air Filter maintenance
⚠ Never twist or tear the foam element
- Turn off inverter and let cool
- Remove engine service panel
- Release tabs and tip air cleaner cover down
- Remove foam element from housing
- Wash foam element in detergent and warm water, squeezing gently
- Rinse in clean water
- Dry by slow firm squeezing
- Return element to housing and reinstall cover and panel
Cleaning the Spark Arrestor maintenance
Tools: Wire brush, Flathead screwdriver
- Stop and let cool, move to flat surface
- Remove four screws holding muffler cover
- Loosen clamp holding spark arrestor onto muffler
- Slide off band clamp and pull off screen
- Clean screen with wire brush
- Replace screen if ripped, torn, or worn
- Reinstall screen and clamp
Spark Plug Maintenance maintenance
⚠ Never apply side load when removing spark plug
Tools: Spark plug socket wrench
- Stop and let cool, move to flat surface
- Slide off spark plug access cover
- Pull off spark plug boot straight away from engine
- Clean area around spark plug
- Remove spark plug with provided socket wrench
- Inspect for cracked insulator, wear, and check gap of 0.032 in. (0.80 mm)
- Replace if any condition fails
- Install spark plug, boot, and access cover
