4Coolant check (monitoring condition) diagnostic
Tools: pH-measuring device (part 2913 0029 00), Refractometer (part 2913 0028 00)
- Verify the coolant color visually and confirm no loose particles are floating.
- Check the pH value with a pH-measuring device; typical EG value is 8.6.
- Check glycol concentration with a refractometer; keep above 33 vol.%, not above 68 vol.%.
- Replace coolant if pH is below 7 or above 9.5, or if condition is outside limits.
- Always top up with PARCOOL EG only, never with water alone.
Measuring the alternator insulation resistance diagnostic
Tools: 500 V megger
- Disconnect the N-terminal from the earthing system if connected.
- Disconnect the AVR.
- Connect a 500 V megger between the earth terminal and terminal L1.
- Generate a voltage of 500 V and read the scale.
- Verify the scale indicates a resistance of at least 2 MΩ.
