Towing the Unit installation

⚠ Tighten wheel lug nuts after first 50 miles to factory specifications.

Tools: torque wrench

  1. Raise the rear jack completely and lock into travel position.
  2. Raise outrigger jacks, swing up into travel position, and slide outriggers in.
  3. Use tongue jack to place trailer on hitch; lock coupling and attach safety chains.
  4. Lubricate grease fittings on the leveling jacks.
  5. Connect trailer wiring and check directional and brake lights.
  6. Verify mast cradle locking pin is in place.
  7. Verify doors and enclosure are properly latched.
  8. Check trailer tire inflation per Specifications.
  9. Tighten wheel lugs in sequence: first pass 20-25 ft-lbs, second 50-60 ft-lbs, third 90-120 ft-lbs.
Changing the Engine Oil maintenance

⚠ Allow engine to cool before draining oil or coolant

  1. Ensure ATS/engine switches OFF before maintenance
  2. Shut down lights and engine
Cleaning the Unit maintenance

⚠ Do not wash the unit with a high pressure hose or power washer.

⚠ Do not wash the engine block or fuel tank with a power washer or steam cleaner.

Tools: low-pressure compressed air source

  1. Wipe cabinet exterior and control panel with soft, clean rags.
  2. Use low-pressure compressed air [less than 40 PSI (276 kPa)] to remove dust from cabinet interior.
Inspecting the Unit maintenance
  1. If stored outside, check for water inside cabinet and generator before each use; dry if wet.
  2. Inspect electrical cords; do not use if insulation cut or worn.
  3. Verify winch cables in good condition and centered on each pulley; do not use kinked or unraveling cable.
  4. Verify mast cable correct.
  5. Verify safety pins for mast lock rod and mast lock bar present and secured with chain; check spring in mast lock bar.
  6. Verify wheel lugs present and properly tightened.
  7. Check coolant level daily in overflow jug; normal level between full and add.
  8. Check oil level daily; do not start if below add mark; add only if below add mark; do not overfill.
  9. Check fuel level.
Jack Maintenance maintenance
  1. Apply automotive grease to internal gearing via jack cover or grease fitting near crank (side-wind models)
  2. Rotate jack handle to distribute grease evenly
  3. Apply lightweight oil to handle unit at both sides of tube (side-wind models)
  4. Lubricate caster wheel axle bolt/nut assembly with lightweight oil if equipped
  5. Apply lightweight oil to screw stem (top-wind models)
Lower Radiator Hose Heater Use and Maintenance maintenance

⚠ Improper use of the lower radiator hose heater could result in damage to the engine or personal injury. Do not modify the location of the lower radiator hose heater.

  1. Ensure the cooling system is full of the proper mixture of water and engine coolant before each heater use.
  2. The heater is designed for all-night operation; 2-5 hours of heating prior to starting is usually sufficient.
  3. Ensure the unit is level to maintain proper orientation of the heater while in operation.
  4. Use only an undamaged, outdoor rated, three-prong grounded 120VAC extension cord with a minimum 10A rating.
  5. Before starting the engine, unplug the extension cord from the power first, then unplug the heater cordset.
