Before you start

  • Hose ends must be clamped and well above maximum waterline to prevent water entry.

Procedure

  1. Pass trim pump, hydraulic steering hoses, shift cable protection hose and water inlet hose through the transom cutout (starboard side).
  2. Align the transom studs with the holes and press the transom shield flush against the transom.
  3. Install the six rectangular washers on the studs and then the nuts; tighten the nuts evenly.
  4. Install the trim pump vertically on the transom or a bulkhead, accessible for oil filling and service.
  5. Insert the shift cable through the protective hose and out through the transom shield; apply oil to the cable.
  6. Clamp the hoses to the shift cable and accessory hose; clamp the hydraulic hoses to the trim pump.
  7. Bend up the shift cable and clamp it to the inside of the transom.
