Before you start

  • Fuel delivery pipes are clamped together; do not take off the clamps but remove the pipes as one.
  • Fuel delivery pipes must never be bent or altered; a damaged pipe must always be replaced with a new one.

Procedure

  1. Clean around the injectors and pipe connections.
  2. On 710 and 730 engines remove the exhaust temperature sensor from the exhaust manifold.
  3. Remove the leak-off pipe between the injectors and plug the connections.
  4. Remove the fuel delivery pipes and plug the connections.
  5. Remove the nuts from the injector holders and remove the holders.
  6. Remove the rubber seals from the injectors.
  7. Turn the injectors out with a ring spanner RSp-15, pulling upwards; use puller 6643 if necessary.
  8. Fit new injectors with new rubber seals, holders, leak-off pipe and delivery pipes; start and check for leakage.
