Before you start
- Stopping immediately after heavy load can cause overheating; avoid accelerating before shutdown
Procedure
- Remove load from engine
- Reduce engine speed to low idle
- Allow engine to idle for 5 minutes to cool
- Stop engine after cool-down period
- Turn ignition key to OFF position
