Procedure

1. Put gear controls in neutral.
2. Switch key to first position and confirm alarm horn sounds.
3. Check voltmeter; it should not read below 12 volts for starting.
4. Move throttle to full speed and return to 1/2 throttle.
5. Hold cold start switch up about 20 seconds; confirm glow plug indicator light is on.
6. Turn key to start; release key and cold start switches when engine starts.
7. Move throttle until engine runs about 1000 RPM and allow to warm.
