Procedure

1. Hold Shutdown Bypass-Preheat switch ON 10 to 20 seconds for cold engine.
2. Do not hold too long; can burn out glow plugs.
3. While holding preheat switch, push Engine Control switch to START.
4. Release both switches as soon as engine starts.
5. Do not crank starter more than 10 seconds consecutively.
6. If engine fails to start, wait at least 30 seconds before re-engaging.
