Before you start
- Holding preheat too long can burn out glow plugs/heater elements.
Procedure
- Hold Shutdown Bypass-Preheat switch ON 10 to 20 seconds for a cold engine.
- While holding preheat ON, push Engine Control switch to START.
- Release both switches as soon as engine starts.
- Do not crank starter more than 20 seconds consecutively; ensure engine stopped before retry.
