Before you start
- Use protective clothing and open the filler cap carefully when the engine is warm to prevent burns.
- The battery switch must always be kept ON while the engine is running; turning it off could damage the battery charging alternator.
Procedure
- Check water level by removing pressure cap from expansion tank; level about 1 in. (2.5 cm) below filler cap sealing surface when engine is cold.
- Check oil level in crankcase with dipstick; must be between high and low marks.
- Check fuel tank level and open fuel valves at tank and secondary fuel filter.
- Close sea-cock, check and clean sea strainer, then re-open sea-cock.
- Place battery switch in the ON position.
