Before you start
- Excessive cranking can fill water-lift muffler and damage engine
Procedure
- Hold Shutdown Bypass-Preheat switch ON 10 to 20 seconds for cold engine.
- While holding preheat, move Engine Control switch to START.
- Release both switches as soon as engine starts.
- Do not crank starter more than 20 seconds consecutively.
- If no start after three 20-second cranks, remove raw water pump impeller.
- Reinstall impeller after engine starts, then check exhaust water flow.
