Before you start
- Fuels are combustible - risk of fire and explosion; avoid naked flames, sparks, ignition sources; do not smoke.
Procedure
- Shut off fuel supply to engine.
- Remove cylinder head cover.
- Withdraw cable connector on injector.
- Remove HP fuel line and hold-down clamp screw and take off hold-down clamp.
- Unscrew adapter until only last two to three thread courses are engaged.
- Allow fuel to drain off and collect in suitable container; unscrew adapter completely.
- Install removal/installation tool on cylinder head.
- Remove injector using the tool; remove tool.
- Remove sealing ring and O-rings from injector; cover all connections and bores.
- Remove all plugs prior to installation; fit new O-rings and coat with grease.
- Fit new sealing ring with assembly paste; coat nozzle retaining nut with assembly paste.
- Clean sealing surface on cylinder head; insert injector with correct adapter connection alignment.
- Press injector into seat using tool; remove tool.
- Coat screw head and thread with engine oil; place hold-down clamp and pretighten screw to 5-10 Nm.
- Coat adapter thread and sealing cone with engine oil; mount adapter, pretighten 5-10 Nm, then tighten to 100 ±10 Nm.
