Before you start
- Consult a licensed electrician before connecting generator to a building's electrical system.
Procedure
- Use copper 10 AWG (5.3 mm2) or larger ground wire.
- Use aluminum 8 AWG (8.4 mm2) or larger ground wire.
- Connect ground cable between lock washer and nut on generator.
- Tighten nut fully and connect other end to earth ground.
- Bury earth ground rod minimum 8 ft into ground (NEC 250-52(c)).
