Magnum MLT4000S — Lowering the Mast

Operation

For the Magnum MLT4000S, from the Magnum operator's manual.

Applies to: Magnum MLT4000S, Generac GN-220 engine

Before you start

  • If the mast hangs up or the winch cable begins to develop slack, STOP IMMEDIATELY. Excess slack could cause the mast to collapse.
  • The light heads and heat sink can be very hot. Allow them to cool for 10-15 minutes before handling.

Procedure

  1. Set the Timer Control mode to Off and the Gen Power switch to Off.
  2. Loosen the mast rotation knob and rotate the mast so the white arrows on the front are aligned; tighten the knob.
  3. Press and hold the winch control toggle switch downward to collapse the mast to its lowest level.
  4. Aim the light heads backwards so they do not interfere with retracting the solar panels.
