Kohler KG2204 — Replace the Drive Belt

Before you start

  • Disconnect battery before working on engine.

Procedure

  1. Loosen the two alternator mounting bolts.
  2. Remove and discard old drive belt.
  3. Place new belt on pulleys, aligned with pulley grooves.
  4. Set drive belt tension to specification.
  5. Tighten the alternator mounting bolts.
  6. Check tension and adjust alternator position as needed.
