Before you start

  • Hazardous voltage. Only authorized personnel should open the enclosure.

Procedure

  1. Connect the normal source and verify that the Normal Source Available LED lights; if not, proceed.
  2. Check for nominal voltage at the ATS contactor lugs (single-phase across NL1-NL2; three-phase across NL1-NL2, NL2-NL3, NL3-NL1).
  3. If voltage is present at the lugs, check the interface board LEDs and check for voltage at the interface board connectors (single-phase P13-1 and P13-5; three-phase P1-12 to P1-11, P1-11 to P1-4, P1-4
  4. If no voltage at the interface board connectors, check the wiring from the contactor to the interface board and repair or replace as needed.
  5. If the voltage exceeds the pickup voltage, the Utility Available LED on the RDC2 controller should light; if not, check communications wiring.
  6. For the optional ATS status indicator, verify the Utility Available LED and check the status indicator connection to P12.
  7. Disconnect the normal source and verify the Utility Available LED turns off within a few seconds.
