Kohler — Fuel Pump Installation
Installation

Before you start
- Never install fuel pump on crankcase before the case halves are assembled; correct lever position is above the cam.
Procedure
- Apply a small amount of gasoline resistant thread sealant to fuel fitting threads; turn fittings into pump 6 full turns.
- Install pump to engine using only the gasket provided in the kit.
- Install the flat washers from the kit next to the flange to prevent the lockwasher from damaging the flange.
- Install the two 1/4-20 x 3/4 inch fillister head screws and lockwashers into fuel pump flange.
- Position pump gasket on screws, then secure pump to fuel pump mounting pad.
- Torque screws to 40-45 in. lbs. Do not overtighten.
- Attach fuel hose to outlet side of fuel pump with hose clamp.
