Kohler — Inspect Air Cleaner Components

For these Kohler models: CV11-16, CV460-465, CV490-495.

Applies to: Kohler Cv460 465, Kohler Cv490 495

Before you start

  • failure. Tighten or replace all loose or
  • components can allow unfiltered air into
  • the engine causing premature wear and
  • damaged components.
  • Damaged, worn, or loose air cleaner

Procedure

  2. Loosen the air cleaner cover retaining knob
  3. Remove the wing nut and air cleaner element.
  4. If so equipped, remove the precleaner from the
  5. Disconnect the breather hose from the air cleaner
  6. Remove the air cleaner base mounting nuts,
  7. If necessary, remove the self-tapping screws
  8. Install the stud and self-tapping screws to the
  9. Install the gasket, air cleaner base, and
  10. Connect the breather hose to the air cleaner
  11. If so equipped, install the precleaner
