Kohler — reassemble, and recheck pressure.

For these Kohler models: CV11-16, CV460-465, CV490-495.

Procedure

  1. Seals and/or gaskets leaking. Loose or
  2. Replace all worn or damaged seals and
  3. Piston blowby or leaky valves. Confirm with
  4. Recondition piston, rings, cylinder bore, valves,
  5. Restricted exhaust.
  6. Repair/replace restricted muffl er/exhaust
  7. 3
  8. Run engine for 3-5 minutes to warm it up.
  9. Remove spark plug(s) and air filter from
  10. Rotate the crankshaft until the piston is at top
  11. Install the adapter into the spark plug hole, but
  12. Connect an adequate air source to the tester.
  13. Turn the regulator knob in the increase (clockwise)
  14. Connect
  15. Check your test results against the table below:

Tools required

  • adapter. Note the gauge reading and listen for
  • slot or square hole of the holding tool, so it is
  • perpendicular to both the holding tool and
  • Gauge reading in ‘‘high’’ (red) zone ............................................... Rings and/or cylinder have considerable wear.
  • direction until the gauge needle is in the yellow
