Kohler — Controller Operation Test

Before you start

  • Do not manually operate the transfer switch with the power connected.

Procedure

  1. Move generator set master switch to OFF.
  2. Disconnect ALL power sources to the transfer switch.
  3. Manually operate the transfer switch to the normal position.
  4. Close and secure the enclosure door.
  5. Apply normal power source; verify Utility Available LED lights.
  6. Move generator master switch to AUTO; disconnect normal source and verify engine-start contact closes.
  7. Reconnect emergency source; verify GEN LED lights and transfer within time delay.
  8. Reconnect normal source; verify retransfer and engine cooldown.

Specs & values

  • Engine start 3 sec.
  • Transfer Normal to Emergency 3 sec.
  • Retransfer Emergency to Normal 6 min.
  • Engine cooldown 5 min.
  • Contact must operate within +/-10% of time delay setting
