Before you start
- Battery electrolyte is a diluted sulfuric acid; wear splashproof goggles, rubber gloves, and boots.
- Reconnect the battery correctly, positive to positive and negative to negative.

Procedure
- Ensure the starting battery is fully charged before placing it in service.
- Clean the battery posts and/or adapters if necessary.
- Install the battery post adapters, if needed.
- Place the battery in the housing.
- Verify that the controller master switch is in the OFF position.
- Connect the positive (+) lead to the engine starting battery.
- Connect the negative (--) lead to the engine starting battery.
