Before you start
- Do not wash the paper element or clean it with pressurized air, as this will damage the element.

Procedure
- Place the master switch in OFF/RESET, disconnect battery charger power and the battery (negative lead first).
- Loosen the cover retaining knob and remove the cover.
- Remove the element cover nut, element cover, paper element, and precleaner.
- Remove the precleaner from the paper element.
- Replace the element if it is dirty, bent, or damaged.
- Check the air cleaner base and element cover; replace damaged components and clean the base.
- Check the rubber seal on the air cleaner stud and replace if necessary.
- Reinstall the paper element, precleaner, element cover, cover nut, and air cleaner cover.
- Reconnect the battery charger power and the battery (negative lead last).
