Kohler 10CC / 10CCOZ-Mobile — Starting Procedure

Before you start

  • Disconnect battery cables before working on generator set (negative lead first and reconnect it last).

Procedure

  1. Place controller start switch in STOP/PREHEAT position for time shown in preheat table.
  2. Do not energize preheat feature for more than 20 seconds or damage may occur.
  3. Move START-STOP switch to START and hold until engine runs, then release.
  4. Do not crank engine continuously for more than 10 seconds at a time.
  5. Allow a 60-second cooldown period between cranking attempts.
  6. If unit fails to start after three attempts, contact an authorized service dealer/distributor.

Specs & values

  • Preheat above 23 F (-5 C): approx. 5 seconds
  • Preheat below 23 F (-5 C): approx. 10 seconds
  • Limit of continuous preheat use: 20 seconds
