Before you start
- Only the motor brushes and brake assembly require periodic replacement.
Procedure
- Keep the winch free of dirt, oil, grease, and water.
- Check all mounting bolts for recommended torque; replace damaged fasteners.
- Check cable for cuts, knots, crushed/frayed portions, or broken strands; replace if damaged.
- Check brake for slippage or drift; replace if winch drum continues to turn.
- Clean and grease the brake assembly periodically.
- Check motor brushes and replace when necessary.
